Purpose of this privacy notice
We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal information. We aim to be clear and open about our data and security practices. This privacy notice will inform you as to how we look after your personal data, and about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
Where we ask you to provide us with any information by which you can be identified, it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement, and in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018.
If you have any concerns about our use of your personal data, you can make a complaint to us using the contact details at the top of this privacy notice. If you remain unhappy with how we’ve used your data after raising a complaint with us, you can also complain to the ICO.

Lawful bases for processing data
Performance of contract means processing your data where it is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party or to take steps at your request before entering into such a contract.
Legitimate Interest means the interest of our business in conducting and managing our business to enable us to give you the best service and the best and most secure experience. We make sure we consider and balance any potential impact on you (both positive and negative) and your rights before we process your personal data for our legitimate interests. We do not use your personal data for activities where our interests are overridden by the impact on you (unless we have your consent or are otherwise required or permitted to by law).
Compliance with a legal or regulatory obligation means processing your personal data where it is necessary for compliance with a legal or regulatory obligation that we are subject to.
Purposes of processing data
The length of time we keep your records is dependent on the nature of the service provided. We will remove your information from all NAVCA sources in line with our Data Retention Schedule.
Our separate NAVCA Privacy Notice for staff and volunteers tells us what to expect us to do with your personal information when you apply to work for us, work for us or volunteer for us, for instance as a trustee.
We will never share your personal data with any third parties, and you can contact us at any time to ask us to change your preferences or delete your personal information from our database.
